Tech Spotlight: ReSound One

In Uncategorized by Candace Wawra

ReSound hearing aids have set worldwide standards for some of the most groundbreaking technology available from leading hearing care providers. It was ReSound who led the world with the first Made for iPhone hearing aid in 2014. People have trusted ReSound with hearing loss and their caregivers worldwide for decades with this commitment to innovation.

The ReSound ONE is the new flagship hearing aid from GN Hearing. It shares several hardware and software features with its popular LiNX Quattro hearing aids.

The ReSound ONE

The modern styling of the ONE is designed for maximum adaptability, sits lower for greater discretion, and comes in various colors to suit various hair and skin tones. The shape of the ReSound One is different from that of Quattro and the LiNX 3D before it. It is more angular, and it uses an entirely different wire connection for the receiver.

Features of ReSound ONE

M&RIE Receivers

The most exciting feature is undoubtedly the M&RIE (Microphone and Receiver-In-Ear) Receivers on the ReSound ONE. It is based on leveraging the natural ability of the ear to pick up sound. Our ears are unique, but most hearing aid devices only capture sound from behind the ear, and the sound can end up sounding standardized, unnatural, and incomplete as a result.

The M&RIE is a whole new class of hearing aid. With a microphone and receiver mounted within the ear, hearing aid users can pick up everything, as nature intended. Through the M&RIE style, ReSound ONE provides the brain with all it needs to process sound more deeply, making it easier to get lost in the conversation.

All Access Directionality

Inspired using the unique features of the ear, All Access Directionality changes directional microphone patterns automatically to place you in the best and most natural position to hear what is needed and still track the sounds around you.

It helps your mind, not your hearing aid, to determine what sounds are essential by allowing you to access more sounds than most hearing aids.

In noisier environments, a new binaural connection is used by All Access Directionality to create a more robust, more centered beam in front of the listener to pick up sounds. It offers a better signal-to-noise ratio of up to 2dB compared to conventional microphone directionality.

All Access Directionality and M&RIE track your sound environment and switch between M&RIE and various directional modes automatically to ensure that you are best equipped to hear, no matter where you are.

Ultra Focus

For the most challenging listening conditions, ReSound has now added a new software called Ultra focus. Ultra Focus uses a minimal pickup range so that the sound is concentrated from wherever the head turns. This can increase the ability to understand speech up to 30 percent above and above what you can get from an omnidirectional microphone.

Remote Programming

It has never been more important to stay at home. That’s why with the ReSound ONE, you can have your hearing aids programmed remotely by your hearing care expert in two ways:

  • Your hearing professional uploads them: Programming changes are made and submitted to your smartphone by your hearing specialist so that you can download those settings to your hearing aids.
  • Real-time, with your hearing professional: You can create a live link to your hearing specialist through live support in your Smart 3D App. They then make changes to the hearing aid programming in real-time.

Other Exciting Features

Cutting-edge rechargeable technology: ReSound ONE is available in rechargeable and non-rechargeable versions and integrates lithium-ion rechargeability.

Bluetooth LE-ready: The ReSound ONE is ready for the new LE Bluetooth standard, which will be launched in the next year or two. For now, with the Bluetooth capabilities on the ReSound ONE, you can stream any audio straight from an Android or Apple device.
